My Suburban House

The First Floor:

My newest MOC is the Suburban House featuring a swimming pool, three bedrooms (including a master bedroom), and two full baths and one half bath. First we’ll look at the first floor, with three entrances, including the front door, and two doors going to the backyard. Notice that the house is elevated one brick above the ground, and it’s elevated using all black bricks for contrast. From a street view, there’s also a black wall to create contrast against the all white (image #3). There’s also an accent wall in the main entryway with the use of the nougat bricks and the black window to the right of the main door (image #2).

The first floor has an open-concept floor plan and a nice flow between the kitchen and the living room. There’s also a small nook space at the bottom of the stairs, with a retro arcade machine, a vending machine, and a large bulletin board with maps and posters of places the residents have gone to! Underneath the stairs is a very small but efficient powder room, measuring just 4×4 studs wide. The backyard is also closed in with the use of the new plant-based plastic trees. In addition, there’s an outdoor basketball space which also serves as a parking space.

The kitchen has a nice island in the middle of it, with two chairs so the mini figures can sit down while they’re in the kitchen while also having a nice view of the large TV in the living room! The kitchen has a microwave, a blender, a refrigerator, a sink, and cabinet space above the sink! In the living room there is a large shelf with books, a trophy, and a antique car on it. There’s also a small single couch for facing the kitchen and large couch.

The kitchen has a one of the two doors leading out towards the backyard. The “window wall” is also an accent wall, with the use of the dark stone bricks to contrast the white. The door frame pieces that are visible from outside of the house are also black to keep the consistent contrast.

The nook is my favorite part of the house because of its liveliness and color. There’s a vending machine, a Midway Defender arcade machine, and a bulletin board with maps, posters, photos, a newspaper, and thermometer from the residents’ travels. There’s also a license plate (from the Ghostbusters™ car), a to-go list on the bulletin board, and a magnifying glass on a map of Manhattan! The Pieces vending machine, modelled after a Pepsi™vending machine, is also a fun add-on, which I bought from Build Better Bricks. In addition to the arcade, vending machine, and bulletin board, there’s also the second side entrance, which leads to the backyard and parking spot. To go to the second floor the residents have to go through the nook space, too.

The Second Floor:

The second floor is home to all three bedrooms, including a master bedroom with an attached full bathroom and a deck facing the street. There are also two identically sized bedrooms with a Jack and Jill bathroom!

The two bedrooms are the same size with cabinets above the beds for extra storage space. The bedroom on the left has a desk, two 1x4x3 windows, and two maps hung up on the wall. The Jack and Jill bathroom is quite small, with a sink, a shower, and a toilet. The bedroom on the right has a small TV at the foot of the bed, cabinets above the TV, and a large window overlooking the backyard.

The master bedroom is a large space with a queen bed, a cozy lounge chair by the mirror, a desk, a large 1x6x3 window piece looking onto the deck, and a master bathroom. The bedroom has a color theme of navy blue, light blue, and white. Above the bed there is a picture of the residents’ family and above the desk there are two music albums. The bathroom has an enclosed shower space, a sink, and a toilet.

The Third Floor:

The third floor has no bedrooms and is just a small, enclosed room, with roof access and cabinet space.

The only room on the roof is enclosed partly with glass and partly with solid wall. There’s fencing along the door as residents walk out, but does not continue all the way around because the residents don’t usually go on the roof!

I hope you enjoyed my Suburban House build and plan on building a small and cozy house next.
