Welcome to my fourth “My Creations” post! This creation is what I call a Suburban House, featuring three bedrooms (including a master bedroom), two full baths, a half bath, and a garage with space to hold one car.
I am pretty happy with this build, especially the symmetry on the left-half of the house with the use of the stone pieces. Both the front door and the driveway have stone built paths, too. From this angle, you can also see that the garage has a door which leads into the living room, as you can see in the image below.
This image shows the first floor. From left to right you can see the living room with the large couch and the glass door leading to the the garage and a shelf for CD’s and movies. There’s also a half bath which is hard to see in this image on the left. The stairs are in a good spot against the wall in order to save space in the house.
The front door opens nicely onto a beautiful blue, green, and white, rug which brings in the greenery from outside and the white from the walls. To the right there is a large dining table with seats for six minifigures and room for more! On the bottom right there is a large kitchen with an island in the middle, and seating space off to the left.
On this floor I wanted to add more carpeting to make the whole house look more organized. In my next build I want to try and eliminate the amount of studs visible and use tiles to make the house look cleaner!
Now to the second floor!
The second floor features two small bedrooms with a shared bathroom and a large master suite. The master takes up half of the floor and has its own hallway leading to the bathroom and bedroom.
There are several pieces of art by the master bedroom, too. When I was building this house I was imagining that the people (or minifigures!) living here were fans or art so I tried to integrate art into the house which turned out well!
From above you can see the two bedrooms on the right with a shared bathroom and the large master suite on the left half of the image! We’ll look at the right half first and save the master suite for last!
The bedrooms are quite small, but serve well as rooms for kids and visitors.
The first bedroom (image on left) has a blue and white themed room. There is a desk, a bed, a TV, and a small dresser as storage space. There’s also a large window in the room! The carpet, as I said before, is something I added in to make the room flow more and look more filled.
The second image shows the bathroom which has two doors to connect with the first bedroom and second bedroom. The bathroom is pretty small but has enough space for a nice shower. The bedroom on the right is sized well and has windows along the wall which give it a spacier feel. Again, I wanted to add carpeting in to help make the room more colorful and filled! Both bedrooms have a desk and TV! I also added stone along the walls to make the bathroom and bedroom flow more.
Now to the master suite!
The master suite takes up half of the floor and has a raised bedroom which makes the bedroom feel much more private! In this image I want to point out the windows in the master bedroom! No, they’re not window pieces, they’re actually door pieces! I wanted to make the bedroom windows large and have them flow.
The master bathroom is decent in this build. The next house I build I would probably make the bathroom a bit larger depending on how much floor space there is! The bathroom has a blue stripe running through it, too which works nicely with the master bedroom’s theme of blue and white.
The master bedroom is by far my favorite room in the house because it’s clean, realistic, has a comfortable amount of space, and the colors work really well together! I would love living in that master bedroom! The art on the walls (one is on the left, above the bed and the other on the top right) and the carpet which is large helps pulls the room together really well. There is a trunk with a white blanket on it at the foot of the bed with gold accent posts attached to it! There is also plenty of spaces to add dressers in the room.
This is one of my favorite parts of the bedroom, the symbol on the TV. It stands for something happening right now, the Time’s Up movement. The movement aims to end sexual assualt, harrasment, and inequality in the workplace and bring attention to the “systemic inequality and injustice in the workplace that [has] kept underrepresented groups from reaching their full potential.” I wanted to allude to the monumental movement in this build because the Time’s Up movement is empowering and is leading to an equal and safer future for underrepresented groups. While it’s not the real logo for the movement, the “T” is seen on the left half of the screen and the “U” is going up. In addition the “U” is also the ☰ symbol, which although is a symbol in math, also stands for Equality.
I also mentioned the family living here enjoying art, so I included a piece of art to the left of the TV with natural colors. There is also a fun dart board on the left wall! There is drawer space under the TV, too, and a detailed dresser on the right.
Overall, I am pretty satisfied with this build. I love the master bedroom and the symmetry of the stone on the outside of the house and the integration of carpets to pull together rooms. I will definitely be working on adding more tiling in my next builds!
Well, that’s my Suburban House! I hope you enjoyed it! I’m not sure what I should build next, so if you have any ideas or a challenge build idea leave a comment below!
Next month I will be posting two reviews on the 60th Anniversary of the Lego Brick promotional set and the Destiny’s Bounty! If I have a “My Creations” build by then I will also post that!
