Welcome to my Big Tiny House! This MOC of mine is unique in that it is much smaller than any of the MOCs I’ve posted (besides my Traveler’s Cottage). Originally I planned on building a tiny house, but as I went on I realized it’s larger than an actual tiny house but smaller than the average house, thus came the name “My Big Tiny House”!
Now, let’s get started:
The two-story house is a one-to two-person house with a small but stylish bathroom, a small kitchen with all the typical kitchen necessities, two television sets, a small couch, and a large couch. The main entrance of the house is quite bland, but the side of the house is detailed with stone
The First Floor
The first floor features the kitchen, the bathroom, the dining table, a stone staircase, and a small television.
On the right, when first entering the big tiny house, there’s a container to the right holding a shoehorn (even though minifigures don’t wear shoes!) and an umbrella. There’s also a thermostat and security monitor on the wall. The TV is able to rotate so it can be seen from all views on the first floor.
The kitchen is the first “room” seen when looking to the left. There’s a table that’s raised two bricks up in order to create more storage space. Underneath the table, if you look closely in image #3, you will notice there is storage space holding some snacks held in a 1x2x2 window piece and an open space for extra items. The table is able to seat three minifigures. The stairs are made of stone, creating an elegant and detailed space. Underneath the stairs is the kitchen space, with a refrigator, a dishwasher, a sink, and an oven and stove next to the staircase. There’s also space above the refrigerator for pots, if necessary.
Notice that the wall is made of brick, with a map of New York City hung on the wall. The door leading to the bathroom is also blue to bring some color into the room.
One of my favorite spaces is the bathroom. The interior color of the bathroom is blue which really sets it apart from the other areas of the house.
The bathroom is very detailed. There are two windows so it does not feel too tight or cramped inside. The windows, one of which is pictured in image #1, are made with 1x2x3 windows on their sides. The window by the shower is tinted so people outside cannot see in. The shower is also detailed with a hot and cold switch, and a short separation wall between the other half of the bathroom to create privacy. The toilet also has a roll of toilet paper sitting on its top, with an exposed pipe to add detail to the build. The sink is small but has a vase holding a hairbrush and a container of soap. The wall in the bathroom is blue, not brick, so the doorway is two bricks thick. The lamp is the main light source in the room as well.
The Second Floor
The second floor consists of the bedroom and the large couch and large wall-mounted television. There is enough room to fit a large queen bed, too! The wall behind the large couch is black, contrasting the main white color of the house.
There is a clock on the wall, visible from any location on the second floor. The bedside table is large, with a record and disk, a traveler’s backpack, and a reusable bottle with water in it. There is also a flower to bring more color into the room. The owner of the house also has a stuffed animal on their bed and a poster from Fantastic Beasts™. At the foot of the bed is a large storage space and a boombox sitting on top of it.
There’s a lamp at the end of the couch and a large coffee table in the middle of the “den” with a travel magazine and dog treat on the table. The windows and stones on the second floor are placed in the same location as those on the first floor and allow plenty of light into the second and first floor.
Overall this is one of my favorite builds because it is very detailed and I don’t usually build small houses but it allowed me to look more closely at detail and figuring out how to design so there’s enough space for furniture and a bathroom and then placing the furniture in a realistic and comfortable way.
Thanks for reading My Big Tiny House!
Love the build!! It’s so creative and aesthetically pleasing <3
Thank you!
